How do I sort Motherboard content?
We've taken the liberty of setting the "Popular – Recent" scale at dead-center, giving you a healthy mix of new and chatted-about content. But if you'd like a bit more of either, the tool is very simple. Just slide the tab all the way to the left to see Motherboard's most popular stories. Slide it all the way to the right and you'll have all the most recent stories.
What is a Sounding Board, how does it work, and why would I ever save one?
We are very glad you asked about this. A Sounding Board is a topic that exists within one of our eight major categories. Say you are poking around in the Music category and you happen on to “The Future of Music” Sounding Board Discussion and think it is something you’re particularly interested in. You click on the “Save This” button and you’ve saved it. Done. Then in the future, rather than running the risk of overlooking this great Discussion when poking around all the other great Discussions, it’s already saved right there on your handily personalized user page.
Please remember: To save a Discussion, you first have to be logged into your user account.
I'm sick of this Discussion, how do I end it?
Same as above, but as you will notice, the "Subscribe" links now says "Unsubscribe." EZ-PZ.
OK, I'm pretty sure another poster is wrong about something and that my idea is way better. How do I post something?
Good thinking! You can either comment on his original post or you can write a post of your very own. Use the "Comment" or "Write Your Own Post" tabs as you prefer.
What about posts? Can I save the stuff I like?
That's the thing: You can save nearly all your history and then review it all on your user page.
I want to be a "Sounding Board leader." How do I make this happen?
Sounding Board leaders are members of the Motherboard community who post the very best stuff, and who do so often. Everyone is reading their stories! The best way to become a Sounding Board leader is to write more frequently and to build friendships within the Motherboard community.
