Wanna take your party DJing skills to the clubs? Just grow up. Like, really grow up.

DJ Ruth Flowers is a British granny who’s been making the rounds in Parisian clubs with, Reuters writes, “with a mix of old-school hits, electrobeat and bling-bling style.” (Bling-bling style? Uh huh. Really, Reuters?)

Though she is a trained singer more used to church songs, German lieder and classic pop, DJ Ruth got hooked on electro at her grandson’s birthday party:

“I went along quite late and the gentlemen at the door said, ‘I don’t think you want to go in there, Madame’. And I said, ‘Well I rather think I do’,” she said.

“I went in and it was very noisy and the lights were flashing, but there was an awful lot of energy and joy.”

She got hooked up with French producer Aurelien Simon, who taught her how to spin and helped her develop a style. “It took four years because she had to learn to use the machines. I explained the basics of electro music, and then she created her own style,” says Simon.

Ever since, she’s proven herself to be quite the hit. Not least because her awesome huge glasses aren’t just for fashion. And forget about those bling-bling headphones: check out that NASA Teacher-in-Space patch. I want to be you when I grow up, grandma.

“They said, “you’re awesome, we want to be like you’,” she said. “I always say — you don’t want to be like me. You want to be you.”

I think it's simply her do very little and getting all the credit. Kind of like almost everything you hear on top 40 radio, really.

You know, if this were an old man, he'd have biddies flinging themselves at him. I want to see hot naked studs shoving their junk on her!
