Instrumental for 2010: Touchpad Guitar
Posted by Dell_Lounge on Tuesday, Mar 02, 2010
Think about how games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band have changed our perception of guitars. Instead of 6 strings and a pick, soon we’ll be used to buttons and a big toggle switch. It’ll be interesting to see what people will be rocking out with in the future. But for now, the Misa Digital Guitar should hold us over.
Who wouldn’t want a chance to shred on this thing? It has a touchpad for playing your notes (which lights up like something out of Tron), pitch shifting and a bit reduction filter you control by sliding your finger around. Sorry Mr. Hendrix, but we had to dub The Misa Digital Guitar “awesome”.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next wave of musical technology. It won’t be laptops and keyboards for long. With chiptune artists and others that combine the science of gaming with musical instruments, there’s no telling what’s next.

It's like a Kaoss Pad with a guitar neck.

I'd pay to see Eddie Van Halen rock this thing.

Awesome it is, but it'll never replace the six-string.
