Build Your Own Beatbearing
Posted by Rusty_Shackleford on Friday, Nov 27, 2009
Electronic music is kind of boring, right? There’s only so long you can sit around in front of a computer or a synthesizer or whatever and make beeps and boops and all that jazz.
The huge rise in popularity of this stuff has also led to a huge decline in hands on creation. Nobody really build their own synthesizer, why bother when you can get the same out of a program you can download in an hour?
The maker of this little machine is trying to change that. The Beatbearing Tangible Rhythm Sequencer turns beatmaking into a whole new ballgame. A ballgame that you can build yourself. The creator has supplied schematic diagrams online instead of putting the idea into production himself in the spirit of fostering creativity and being awesome, and I gotta say, the results are pretty damn cool.
Check out the video and if it inspires you to build your own… post the results.

Wow... Awesome. This reminds me a lot of a video someone posted here before with paper cubes that worked in a similar fashion but this one looks like it would be much easier to use.
